Tips and Tricks for Using Microsoft Surface Arc Mouse Bluetooth on Mac

Make sure your Surface or Windows 10 PC is Bluetooth 4.0 Compatible. Microsoft Arc Mouse requires Windows 10 on a Bluetooth 4.0 Host to connect. If you are unsure whether or not your Host is Bluetooth 4.0 compatible, you may need to work with your original equipment manufacturer (OEM).

Microsoft Surface Arc Mouse Bluetooth Work With Mac

Apple products are known for being incredibly durable and this mouse is no exception. The mouse feels just as intuitive as it looks, with a minimalist design making it easy to use from the beginning.

The scrolling wheel on this mouse does not work as smoothly as it could, sometimes dropping in and out of recognizing movement. However, this is only a small blemish, as it kicks in again rather quickly.

This mouse is very quick-to-respond, allowing you to make nuanced motions pretty quickly and with a great deal of flexibility. The design is also very compact, making it a very portable item as well.

A refreshing aspect of this mouse is how fast and sensitive it is. By having a 5G advanced optical sensor, there are no delays with the mouse recognizing your motion, whether or not it is wired or wireless.

We say this because it is the only one on the list specifically made for gaming, with incredibly light mouse clicks and even a number pad on the side of the mouse. The scroll wheel is also very easy to use and has a very intuitive feel to it!

Having a Macbook Pro mouse is especially important for anyone working in music, art, gaming, or any type of creative interest, as all of these fields require the aforementioned precision and nuance.

The transmitter is contained within the mouse device itself, sending the signal out. The computer then has to receive the signal, after which it translates it into the computer's language to create an action." , "@type": "Question", "name": "Are these devices wireless?", "acceptedAnswer": "@type": "Answer", "text": "Almost! All of the mouse devices listed in this article are wireless aside from the UtechSmart Venus Gaming Mouse RGB Wired." , "@type": "Question", "name": "Do these devices work with any operating system?", "acceptedAnswer": "@type": "Answer", "text": "Yes! All of the mouse devices included in this article aren't limited to any particular operating system, meaning that you can use them with any one that you please. This is because they simply work as wireless devices, so any operating system that allows for wireless devices (Mac OSX, Windows, Linux, etc.) will be compatible with these products." , "@type": "Question", "name": "Which devices are best for gaming?", "acceptedAnswer": "@type": "Answer", "text": "The best mouse on this list for gaming is the UtechSmart FBA Venus Gaming Mouse RGB Wired. If you prefer to use a wireless mouse for gaming, the Razer Mamba Wireless Programmable RGB Gaming Mouse is the best wireless option out there. Admittedly, it does not have a number pad on the side of it and costs over twice the price of the aforementioned mouse, but it is incredibly high-quality and definitely worth looking into. It also has a battery charge of up to 50 hours!" , "@type": "Question", "name": "How long can you use them for?", "acceptedAnswer": "@type": "Answer", "text": "The amount of time you can use any given mouse depends on the specific product. For example, while the Razer Mamba Wireless Programmable RGB Gaming Mouse allows you to use it for up to 50 hours straight, the Logitech M525 can last for up to 3 years at a time, a stark difference that is worth taking into consideration if maximizing usage is important to you." , "@type": "Question", "name": "What is the difference between a mouse and a Magic Trackpad?", "acceptedAnswer": "@type": "Answer", "text": "A Magic Trackpad is a device frequently coupled with Macbook Pro mouse devices by Apple themselves, encouraging users to choose one, the other, or even both in certain situations. It takes on the form of a trackpad similar to the one that is included with the Macbook Pro, but instead is nearly twice the size and allows for an increased range of motion. Those who are interested in having more nuance with their trackpad motions should invest in this product, but it isn't worth getting if you're mainly focused on the flexibility of mouse devices (i.e. scrolling with one finger, etc.)" ]

Design: The mouse has a sleek design. It folds, which is extremely convenient when you need to travel with it. It has a beautiful design. So if you prioritize aesthetics, you are going to love the way this one looks.

This is my first Logitech Wireless Mouse and I love it. It works well on most surfaces and its ergonomically designed. I had no problems connecting to my Windows 10 computer. And the battery life is great. I have used it for a couple of months and in that time, I have charged at most twice.

The only problem I have with the mouse is that it uses the Type-B cable, which means I cannot use the Type-C cable that I use for charging my Android phone to charge the mouse. That means if I need an extra charging cable even though I will only need to use it once a month.

The Microsoft Surface mouse is great. It is well designated and it comes in two versions: Bluetooth and nano transmitter. The Bluetooth version is compatible with a MacBook. The only problem is that its expensive. But this device is foldable so you store it and carry it around with you without a problem.

As I had mentioned earlier, my 2013 Arc Touch Mouse Surface Edition started developing a sticky feel all over the surface as if the rubber was disintegrating. This is common with a lot of electronics (including an Ooma device we own.) This 2019 ARC Mouse does not have that issue at the time, but in case you do run into the sticking a few years from now, here is how to fix that:

Have turned on mouse, and can see the mouse is on. It has worked recently with a Windows Surface. Bluetooth recognized several devices at the office, but did not see the mouse. I wonder if the Elitebook is compatible with the Bluetooth 4.0 (LE) system?

Logitech mice were conntected to my Surface but I had to reconnect when ever I reboot the Surface. Only Microsoft BT mice worked with my Surface and Microsoft BT mice had hit and miss on other mchines.

Discovered on a microsoft website the answer is to disable Power management for bluetooth devices : Device Manager; Bluetooth; Intel Wireless Bluetooth; Properties; power management; uncheck "allow computer to turn off this device to save power". Once I did this then went back to bluetooth setup, it now finds the arc touch mouse, and it can be connected.

Recently, Logitech updated its Master line for Apple users, with the release of the MX Master 3 mouse as well as the MX Master Keys. We were quite impressed with both of them on the Mac, but they work well on iPad too.

I've been using a Logitech M720 bluetooth mouse that has two features that I like:1) Button #2 triggers a "back one page" function that saves you from having to go up to the back arrow on the browser. It's minor, but adds speed & convenience.2) Button #3 lets you connect the mouse to any of three devices: For instance: A MacBook, a Thinkpad and an iPad. For people with multiple devices, it saves having mice all over the place and figuring out which goes with which. Essentially it's: "One Mouse to Rule Them All!"Functionally I have zero complaints with it. It 'just works'.

When you plug in the USB receiver of Microsoft Arc mouse, Mac OS detects it automatically within a fraction of second. That means, Microsoft Arc Mouse works out of the box without installing any driver for it. But, in order to get all the features, it is suggested to install the driver.

Take advantage of BlueTrack Technology, which combines the power of optical with the precision of laser for remarkable tracking on virtually any surface. Even use it on a rough wood surface or carpet, with BlueTrack Technology.
